Backing Your Photos & Videos Up
In an age of cloud storage, automated backups, securely storing your photos, your videos, your music, has never been easier.
Yet, it’s also easily overlooked.
A big part of my passion for photography is because I’m creating memories for people, capturing fleeting moments to look back on. Sounds cheesy, but it’s true.
How many people do you know who’s mobiles have given up the ghost? How often do you see posts on social media, asking how to access a broken phone because precious photos are potentially lost forever?
I’m contacted a lot about it, asking me how to retrieve photographs.. I don’t know. There are companies that specialise in this, but for the zero pence it costs to use the cloud, or an app like Dropbox, it makes sense to back up regularly.
I can invite you to Dropbox, it comes with 500gb free, and you can set up backups for every week, month, or whatever works for you. Having them stored there, and having the app, means you can clear your phone memory, but still access your photos with ease.
Uploading to Facebook for safe keeping is not the way to go, due to the site compressing files, and meaning that the images you later download will be off much poorer quality.
Capture You’ve Been Framed worthy videos, baby’s first smile, all the little moments in your lives, and the biggies, safely store them, and you can retrieve your memories in the same quality as you first took them.
