Having met around 10 years ago in school, Becky & Lewis soon became friends, although Lewis tells me that all Becky did was pinch his fags!
After losing in touch, they reconnected 2 years ago, and it was like they’d never been apart. Lewis took Becky’s little Jacob on as his own, and they’ve seen created the busy little bee that they call Betty.
Lewis’ proposal was perfectly suited to them - handing Becky a ring, and asking her to be his wench.
Becky says that Lewis is a Marvel geek, but she isn’t, yet I’m reliably informed that she really gets into the films. I’d say she needs to work on her sneak skills for sure, as Lewis always knows when she’s bought new clothes or shoes, by her flaring nostrils, he lovingly told me.
Onto their wedding day.. they chose one of the gorgeous Shared Churches in Keighley, they’re all great to photograph in, and the celebrants just go with flow. They chose the one on Church Green.
Lewis was very swan like when I arrived, calm on the outside, flapping underneath.
Becky arrived with her Dad, and after giving her dress a shake, made her way, much to the pleasure of their waiting guests. The bridal party & groomsmen were preceded by a slightly nervous Jacob, before little Betty made her appearance.
Becky laughed her way through the vows, because she’s not a fan of public speaking.. The best was when she looked at Lewis, hid her face, and said “this feels really grown up!”
They exchanged rings, with a bit less laughing, and looked on as Becky’s grandma was chuckling away while Father Mike spoke.
Before anyone knew it, the ceremony was over, and we all headed outside. Jacob merrily threw confetti around, while Betty needed Mummy & Daddy cuddles.
I’m sure Becky would have done with less of the paper stuff, but Lewis seemed to appreciate the gift.
Myself & the newlyweds went to Haworth Moors for their photos, although my husband & I nearly had to push their vintage wedding car.. it’s not build for such steep hills!
More than worth it though!
Arriving to a perfectly located 3 Acres, I photographed all the little details of their wedding. Becky’s Mum & Lewis’ sister decorated the room, and Becky’s Mum made their cake.
Great place for wedding receptions, such pretty scenery in the backgrounds, and really helpful staff to make sure everything goes smoothly - and the best bit for me, carte blanche to take photos!
On came the speeches, just before I finished, and we eventually talked Jacob into some family photos, in a typically awesome setting.
